FAQ
What it’s like to work with us, from first call to final walkthrough.
We start with a free in-home consultation- go over the details of what you are wanting & gather our measurements!
For custom or milled-to-order floors, 8–16 weeks of lead time is typical. Stock species, like white oak, can often start within 2–4 weeks. Peak seasons (spring and late summer) book out faster. If you have a hard deadline — a move-in, a holiday, or a staging date — tell us up front and we’ll do what we can to get you in!
Depends on the project you are wanting done. We will go over that with you at your first consultation!

In most cases, the existing floor has to be refinished to match a new floor. We’ll be straight with you if a perfect match isn’t achievable.
Yes!
Everything to know about putting in a new hardwood floor.
Solid hardwood is a single piece of wood, typically 3/4" thick. Premium engineered hardwood has a thick real-wood wear layer (4–6mm) — it's the right choice over concrete slabs, below-grade basements, and radiant heat.
Yes, but it requires the right material and careful control. You need a steam humidifier that needs to be running 30-35% the day hardwood is delivered.
Seasonal hardwood movement is very common & completely normal. Installing a steam humidifier system in your home, maintaining the same relative humidity year round can help minimize movement.
Yes.
No, we do not move furniture.
How we bring tired floors back to life.
Hardwood can typically be refinished multiple times depending on your floors wear layer. We can determine at your first consultation.
Usually yes. The bigger constraint is finish cure time — water-based finishes let you walk on the floor in socks the same day, while oil-based finishes need 24 hours per coat and the odor can drive most people out for a couple of nights.
After we sand the floor to bare wood, we can lay some samples down for you to choose from.
Also called a buff-and-coat, this is a lighter service where we abrade the existing finish, clean thoroughly, and apply a fresh top coat. No sanding to bare wood, no stain change.
Keeping your floors looking new for decades.
We recommend using Bona Pro Hardwood Cleaner.
